Applications are invited for the above mentioned position based at the Van Ryn Cooperage. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor .

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to :

Sawing and toasting of wooden strips
Chip of wood for alternative wood products
Toasting of wood in ovens
Cleaning and toasting of wine barrels
Operation of the effluent plant
Operation of machines and other equipment
Ensuring effective production safety and housekeeping
Cleaning machines and equipment
General cooperage activities
Loading and offloading of barrels on to truck
Participate in E² team

The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:

Grade 12
2-3 Years’ experience in a cooperage or cellar environment
Proven verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
Physically healthy and strong
Knowledge of safe working procedures
Be able to work under pressure
Reliable transport
Willing to work overtime
