Brief Description:
An employer of choice in the mining industry is currently in the market for a Cost and Production Accountant. The successful incumbent will be responsible to perform management accounting functions for the entity.

Job Description:
Minimum Requirements

BCom Accounting degree
At least 5 years’ working experience
2 years’ experience as Cost Accountant
Mining Industry experience is essential

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate, consolidate, Analyse and interpret opex/capex budget and cost reports in order to evaluate actual performance against plans and the effects of external factors on cost
Consolidate and prepare all costing budget and management information to HODs and budget holders
Liaise and provide a service to budget holders and HODs on a daily basis
Manage all system related items on E-workflow and AccPac
Ensure data integrity of information on the AccPac and E-Workflow systems
Play an integral role in driving operational performance and achieving the approved operational deliverables and targets
Analyse, control and manage information by using appropriate accounting techniques and systems to determine and recommend various alternatives to ensure viability and profitability for current and future scenarios
Review capital expenditure and forecasts to ensure alignment with business strategy
Co-ordinate and compile quarterly capital requirements for head office
Consolidate, compile and report on monthly capital expenditure variances
Ensure financial contractual terms are adhered to
Coordinate and ensure the processing of internal and external ad hoc queries
