Position Description: Bookkeeper
Basic Function:
Create financial transactions including posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents.
Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Maintain the petty cash fund
Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents
Process payroll in a timely manner –
Desired Qualifications:
A degree in accounting or business administration and equivalent 5 years minimum business experience, as well as a thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of Kerridge accounting software package and Sage VIP
