FAMCRU is based in Tygerberg Hospital and runs under the auspices of Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The Family Centre for Research with Ubuntu (FAMCRU) and Stellenbosch University has a vacancy suitable for confident individuals with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of health professionals in a highly active and often stressful environment.
The incumbent will promote Good Clinical Practice by educating, coordinating, collaborating and providing expertise in support of investigational trials at FAMCRU.
Appointment is initially done on a two-year
contract basis with the possibility of extension, subject to availability of funding and satisfactory work performance. The salary will be negotiated commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Duties:
Capturing of relevant study orientated data;
Quality assurance of data;
Ensuring that ethical requirements are fulfilled;
Interacting with Principal, Sub – Investigators and Data Manager to ensure fulfilment of project goals;
Programming, debugging and running a variety of scheduled and ad hoc listings, summaries, statistics, labels and other electronic and/or presentation reports;
Making recommendations for online programme enhancements; assisting in testing and implementing modifications and enhancements;
Developing technically advanced training material for our document capturing solution;
Implementing useful software for clients and providing technical training and course material to clients and staff;
Liaising with other departments in collecting subject related information and revising course material on a regular basis.
Required Skills
excellent administrative and organisational skills
Knowledge of computer data processing principles
Computer experience in various Microsoft packages (including Microsoft Access)
Candidate Requirements

Knowledge of computer data processing principles;

Four years of’ Clinical/Medical research experience in data capturing;
·
Computer experience in various Microsoft packages (including Microsoft Access);
·
Ability to implement programming modifications and track and solve programming errors;
·
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
·
Excellent administrative and organizational skills;
·
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision;
·
Ability to communicate efficiently, verbally and in writing;
·
Candidates have to be sensitive to cultural differences and have a good understanding of politically confidential and ethical issues regarding HIV infection.
