An employment opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse- Scrub Sister (Cath Lab)- based in Johannesburg.
The Incumbent will ensure that all patients are identified; reporting, investigating and addressing on patient incidences; conducting assigned clinical audits in the Cath lab; adhering to infection prevention and control protocols; checking and reporting on emergency and other equipment if faulty or missing.
The incumbent will further be responsible for direct and /indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs, is a role model in the delivery of evidence based care and will actively participate in Clinical Governance. The position reports to the Unit Manager
Required Skills
Theatre/ Cath Lab as a Scrub Nurse : 1 to 2 years
Anaesthetics and Recovery is advantageous : 1 year or less
Candidate Requirements
Job requirements:
Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
Must be Registered with SANC / or equivalent NQF qualification
Diploma in Theatre Technique
2 years’ experience in Theatre or Cath Lab as a Scrub Nurse
Relevant experience in a theatre environment would be advantageous
Relevant experience and knowledge of anesthetics and recovery area would be advantageous
Appropriate qualification for specialist are would be an advantage
