Role Description
The Financial Controller will oversee the day to day activities of the finance and operations team to ensure the company’s finance function is organized, efficient and produces accurate and timeous management accounts. The incumbent will represent the company’s overall business strategy and work to implement positive change in the daily work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Management of finance function and overseeing the finance team.
Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes.
Debtors and creditors management.
Preparation of monthly consolidated P&L and balance sheet.
Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports.
Financial modelling and sales analysis.
Ensuring that the appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.
Overseeing the payroll process.
Preparation and submission of VAT returns and all relevant official declarations.
Assist in the review, creation and implementation of procedures.
Work with department heads in maximizing opportunities and minimizing costs.
Take care of all company procurements and expenditures.
Execute company procedures, contracts and administrative responsibilities.
Reviewing progress and mid-course changes for the benefit of company.
Maintaining quality services by enforcing company standards.
Maintaining good relations with banks.
Taking full control of all stock, stock control, management and costing.
Assisting with marketing initiatives and budget implementations.
Ad hoc tasks as requested from management.
Requirements and Experience
The ideal candidate will be someone who has the following qualifications and experience:
Degree in Accounting / Finance.
Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
Registration with professional accounting body and advantage.
2+ years in similar role.
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Sage One, Pastel, Easywine).
Experience of Financial Modelling.
Excellent understanding and knowledge of accounting principles.
