SA Steelworks has an Assistant Storeman position available; the position requires a committed and hardworking individual. The Assistant Storeman will be responsible for replenishes, stock-outs, perform daily cycle counts to ensure sufficient stock at all times.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all daily store tasks are completed on time
Assist with processing daily stock orders
Issuing required refractory material to the refractory department
Issuing cylinder gas to the engineering department
Issuing thermocouples and samplers to Meltshop
Issuing consumables and protective equipment to various departments
Issuing of paint, oil and hoses to various departments
Assist with conducting audit stock levels of gas, oil, lime and lances daily
Assist the Storeman and Stores Coordinator with completing inventory cycle counts on stock items
Assist with conducting inventory stocktake when required
Checking of deliveries against delivery notes
Off-loading of all incoming material
Any other stores related duties as requested
General Housekeeping
Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
Qualifying Criteria:
Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics
Working experience in a Stores environment
Computer proficiency; packages required: MS Word, Excel
Ability to work under pressure without supervision
Be prepared to work overtime including weekends if and when required
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Forklift licence is an advantage
