Taj Cape Town is looking for a dynamic, energetic, experienced Stores Assistant to join their events team.
To manage and control all stores ensuring product availability, stock rotation, store cleanliness and take monthly stock

Requirements:

2-3 years of previous stores experience within a hotel environment required
Previous hotel experience advantageous
Excellent knowledge of different types of stock
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritise
Problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong mathematical skills
Computer literate
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains advantageous

Responsibility:

Store Room orderliness and cleanliness.
Issuing & Processing stock issued to departments
Monitoring and re-ordering of stock items for stores replenishment
Maintaining PAR levels
Doing regular stock takes of stores
Timeous order requests for purchases
Reporting on Out of Stock items
Report on all products not delivered by suppliers
Ensuring stock rotation using the FIFO system
Keeping stores neat, clean and tidy at all times
Issue of products to all departments with the appropriate paperwork within times specified
Ensures that you work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
To be involved with Health & Safety within the department. Ensuring compliance within the department and that Health & Safety directives are carried out.
Anticipate possible and probable hazards and conditions and either correct them or take action to prevent them from happening.
Ensure that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct maintained.
Continuously endeavour to improve the department’s efficient operation, and knowledge of own job function.
Should be flexible to move within the company according to requirement and also for personal growth.
