The individual needs to have a good understanding of the healthcare industry and how a medical private practice works.

Previous experience in medical billing/coding, collections from patients/medical scheme as well as managing the debtor’s book is crucial.

Handling of account complaints and query solution

Closing account enquiries within a certain time period

Continued follow-up and communication to patients and/or medical aid schemes

Managing the debtor’s book (Age Analysis)

Weekly reconciliations of incoming payments from patients and medical schemes

Finalize all billing and provide reports

Above-average understanding of ICD-10, RPL and Specialist billing rules

Medical Scheme knowledge of benefits and processes

Understanding of prescribed minimum benefits (PMB) process

Ability to work under pressure with good communication skills.

Ability to resolve account related issues professionally

Friendly, presentable, confident, professional attitude

Highly motivated and enthusiastic and able to work in a team

Excellent verbal/telephone skills Strong written communication skills

Attention to detail, basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft outlook and Excel

Medical Billing Software skills.

The individual must have at least 3 years’ experience.

Matric/Grade 12
