Great opportunity for a Financial Manager to join a group of companies in George, Southern Cape. The ideal candidate will have a financial qualification, completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles and at least one year of post articles financial accounting experience.
Our client’s business was originally established in 1993 and has a trustworthy reputation and substantial clientele, ranging from private individuals to corporate, governmental and institutional entities in all spheres.
Role Description
Contribute to the continued implementation of the departmental accounting systems, policies and procedures. Responsible for the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintain complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
The financial manager will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing and managing 2 bookkeepers attending to the bookkeeping of 13 small companies
Making journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions
Posting journal entries to ledger accounts
Attending to all intercompany transactions
Preparing trial balances
Performing bank reconciliations
Preparing cash flow statements
Preparing financial reports – monthly management statements
Issuing invoices for money that is owed to the organization
Filing tax returns, including VAT
Performing ad hoc tasks as requested from management
Candidate Profile Description and Requirements
The ideal candidate will be someone who has the following qualifications, experience, and characteristics:
Degree in Accounting / Finance.
Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles.
PA(SA), AGA(SA) or CIMA will be a distinct advantage.
1+ SAIPA/SAICA years’ post articles experience in a similar role.
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Pastel).
Excellent understanding and knowledge of accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail.
Well-balanced individual.
Willing to take initiative to deliver results.
Professional communication skills.
Comfortable interacting with external clients and suppliers at senior level.
Strong Leadership qualities.
Salary: R18k – R23k CTC pm, depending experience.
