PRECIOUS METALS REFINERY PROCESS OPERATOR – OPEN TO ALL SOUTH AFRICAN DEMOGRAPHICS AND RACE GROUPS

Gauteng Refinery seeks dynamic Process Operator to be part of their team.

About Gauteng Refinery

Gauteng Refinery is the fastest growing precious metals company in Africa. Based at Mintek and Midrand, it specialises in the recovery and refining of precious metals and the manufacture of associated value-added products. We receive a wide range of feedstocks including from mines, metallurgical operations, concentrates, various industrial arisings, e waste, autocatalysts. These metals are processed and the recovered and refined precious metals sold as a sponge, granules, bars or intermediate salts.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the manual processing of feedstocks
Ensure the good working order of instruments and equipment in the Refinery
Follow standard operating procedures and complete log sheets
Perform full quality testing and analyze data routinely
Ensure effective housekeeping of the facility
Adhere to Health and Safety stipulations

Job Requirements

Chemistry background – must have PGM Experience
Understand metallurgical processes and products
Minimum 2 year precious metals experience an advantage
Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy, BSc Degree in Chemistry or Graduate Chemical Engineering equivalent
Ability to deliver against predefined schedules with strong quality and customer focus
Shift work is compulsory
