Projects QS – a job that can be performed by QS or a PM with QS flair/ experience :
Experience in construction industry +12 years. (an advantage if added experience in production and assembly of high-quality lightweight buildings and/or hotel/resort construction)
Degree in QS or Construction Management
Contract management and QS experience
Stable track record with contactable references

Person must be :
Forward-thinking, independent mind, not set in their ways
Resourceful, willing to go the extra mile
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Can work in team environment/ team player
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Great with reporting and document control
Must have ability to make a decision and stand by it
Able to apply traditional QS skills to non-traditional building systems and hospitality developments.
Able to manage risk over the added variable of non-traditional turnkey solutions (Design-Procure-Fabricate-Export-Assemble)

Formulating Bills of quantities :
Draw up BofQ …..using Standard Systems of Building Measurements + Model Preambles for Trades
Rates analysis with regular updates

Tenders and orders :
Sending our tender enquiries, adjudicating tenders, maintaining and updating pricing schedules
Placing s/c orders, s/c claims adjudication, payment of s/c’s
Chasing and tracking pricing
Working with procurement dept and overseeing

Cashflows :
Checking budget vs actual
Reporting variances
Project cost forecasting

Variation orders :
Tracking RFI’s
Capturing VO’s/ VO control / VO claiming

Claims and remeasurements :
CI’s/ VO’s
Remeasurement of works progressively
Final accounts
Submission of claims
Chase and follow up on outstanding money/instructions

Systems Development:
Improve (consistency, reliability, and speed) cost-price models for sales cycle
Develop automated costing systems for modular prefabricated offerings

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R420,000.00 to R540,000.00 /year
