Key Responsibility: Adds value to the analytical results through full understanding of the product in terms of food safety and regulatory compliance and alerts Food Safety Specialist of discrepancies/ out of norm situations. Perform all routine analysis as per Laboratory instructions and ensure correct result entry into Globe Ensure maintenance of all micro ICPsMaintain Good laboratory practices (GLP) to ensure lab safety Conduct daily calibration and verification checks for all Micro equipment (incubators,pH meters, autoclaves, water-baths)Maintenance of resources: keep inventory of all micro media and reagents, glassware and other consumablesMaintain equipment (Services) and arrange for defects/faulty equipment to be repaired. Maintain records of repairs/calibrations/analytical method control.

Assist with plant release in absence of Food Safety Specialist. Conduct analysis on finished Product, water, Environment, Line samples, canteen swabs, raw materials, and packaging materials. Conduct screening of Metal Detectors & X-ray rejected samples. Participate in root cause analysis for all out of norm results. Provide cover on alternate weekends w.r.t analysis of Finished Products and Line samples.

Requirements: Matric, National Diploma in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or BSC in Chemistry. Minimum of 3 years in a food manufacturing environment Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SAP)Strong analytical, problem solving & planning skills.
