ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Transport of materials, equipment, industrial equipment, and collecting and delivering vehicle within the Primary, Secondary areas and various area around 9 South African provinces.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

Daily inspection of vehicles and adherence to all rules and regulations

Collection and delivery of items on a daily basis as well as on request

Load goods/hazardous goods, according to applicable standard operating procedure

Know and correctly use the safety equipment on the vehicle, following correct safety procedures

Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspection according to a standard checklist

First line vehicle maintenance e.g refueling, tyre pressure, oil level top up and tyre defects

Safe use of the vehicle on roads and adhering to traffic regulations

Follow the planned route and report deviations when it occurs
General

Ensure that the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition

Area classification and geographical location knowledge

First-line inspections and maintenance on vehicles

Road signs and regulations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, this position may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria

Qualifications :
Grade 12/ NQF 4 Academic code

Valid driver’s Code EC license (Must)

Valid PrDP (Passengers, Goods and Dangerous Goods)

Experience :
2-3 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Driver

Knowledge of general safety rules

Defensive driving

Operating the recovery vehicle (Rollback)

Operating forklift

Ability to work unsupervised

Teamwork with other disciplines

Ability to work under pressure

Computer literate
