A great opportunity has arisen for an Accountant at a fast-growing accounting, tax and consulting firm based in Tygervalley. Due to organic growth, the firm is seeking to permanently employ accountants that will be able to handle a fast-paced environment, pressure, is efficient with new technology and is comfortable with various accounting systems.
The firm is part of a larger group of companies and are registered accountants and tax practitioners, serving clients in South Africa and internationally. Services offered by the business include accounting, tax compliance, secretarial, independent reviews, and valuations.
The ideal candidate will have completed his or her accounting degree and has had exposure to the accounting or finance department of a company.
Duties
Business, tax, and accounting consulting.
Client interaction and relations.
Preparation and Review of financial statements.
Performing independent reviews.
Preparation and Review of tax returns.
Preparation and Review of payroll.
Preparation and Review of management accounts.
Implementation / evaluation of internal controls.
Business development.
Provide input to engineers developing business systems.
Qualifications
BComm or BAcc degree.
Courses in accounting systems.
Qualified by experience in a practice environment.
Requirements
Preferably residing in Northern Suburbs or nearby vicinity.
Must be willing to work overtime to meet client deadlines.
Excellent financial, tax and corporate legislation knowledge & experience.
Able to work to tight deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills.
MS Excel and MS Word literacy required at the advanced level.
Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
Bright, energetic, likes technology.
Salary – R15-18k per month.
