VACANCY: Ø Truck Driver
LOCATION: Ø Kathu, Northern Cape
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
Ø The Employee is required to assist in workplace housekeeping.
Ø Adhere to all National Road Regulations.
Ø Assist in workplace housekeeping as and when required.
Ø Assist technical/workshop personnel during service and maintenance.
Ø Be present and available during working hours, even if his/her allocated vehicle is not operational.
Ø Change damaged or flat tyres when necessary.
Ø Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to customers.
Ø Comply with relevant legislation in the workplace.
Ø Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations.
Ø Drive vehicles as and when required.
Ø Ensure loads are fastened correctly.
Ø Follow any other reasonable instructions as given by management.
Ø Hook and unhook horse and trailer.
Ø Identify and report defects and abnormalities against checklists.
Ø Load and unload merchandise according to customers’ requests.
Ø Operate winch if necessary.
Ø Perform basic maintenance such as greasing the rope and moving parts, cleaning and topping oil and water.
Ø Perform emergency procedures in the lifting machine environment.
Ø Substitute in driving other company vehicles such as LDV’s and trucks as and when required.
Ø Take part in training sessions as students or advisors, including safety toolbox talks.
Ø Work effectively with other members of a team or group.
WORKING HOURS: Ø Monday to Friday: 07h00 until 16h30 (Normal Working Hours)
***Due to the nature of the business, it might from time to time be expected of the Truck Driver to work outside the normal working hours and on weekends.

AGE RANGE: Ø 25 to 45
CODE DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED: Ø Valid Code EC/14 with PrDP
***Must be willing to travel regularly to various company branches and operational sites.

REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS):
Ø Matric/Grade 12
REQUIREMENTS (EXPERIENCE):
Ø Minimum of 2 years’ experience
