We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, individual to join the Technical Department at Amaro Foods Epping.
PURPOSE
To ensure all products meet the quality specifications of the business and its customers.
KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUTS
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Technical Manager and will be responsible for the following:
Quality Control
Ensure all products dispatched meet the business and customers specifications
Ensure timeous communication of internal rejection to the production department to ensure sufficient time for remaking
Ensure proper implementation of quality and food safety systems throughout the factory
Provide support to the department head/manager, production team as and when required to ensure consistent quality control
Ensure adherence to training schedule
Conduct internal inspections in alignment to quality and food safety system requirements
Participate in NPD factory trials as and when required.
Administration and Reporting
Manage the non-conformance report and ensure proper actioning entries
Follow up on non-conformance report
Risk and Compliance
Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping, and pest control
Participate in personal hygiene checks

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:
Tertiary degree/ diploma in Food Science, Microbiology or equivalent
Supplementary advanced training in Food Safety systems advantageous
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office
A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in food manufacturing
KEY COMPETENCIES
The successful incumbent should be able to take initiative and be adaptable in a changing environment.
In addition, the candidate must have interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication. The ability to follow instructions and procedures is essential, along with strong attention to detail.
The individual must have time management skills, be deadline-driven, have a strong results-orientation, be able to plan and organize, have time management skills and engage in continuous learning.
