Beefcor is currently looking to employ workers in their deboning plant. Various positions are available such as meat baggers, meat packers and semi skilled meat trimmers.

The general labourer position uses knives and other hand tools to perform packing, bagging, cutting, trimming, hanging and deboning of beef carcasses in a production processing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

– Process product according to operating procedures and quality expectations.

– Observe company rules and regulations

– Rotate to other similar positions as assigned by Supervision

– Willing and capable of working overtime as required

– Able to work around various cleaning chemicals

– Ability to work with tools, like scissors, knives and/or power tools for the duration of the shift.

– Core strength to pick up meat

– Must be able to carry heavy objects

– Must be able to work in cold conditions

– Must know to safely handle a knife and sharp objects

– To be able to undergo continuous training and evaluation

– Exceptional personal hygiene practices

Working conditions (including but not limited to)

– Majority of work hours are spent indoors working in a cold, wet and loud environment.

– Must be able to work in a stationary position, on feet for the entire shift

– Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company

– Prolonged standing

– Push/pull actions

– Bend from the waist or bend legs to reach lower shelves/boxes

– Ability to tolerate varying temperatures (coolers/freezers)

– Ability to identify clearly bar codes, shelf tags, expiration dates, invoices

– Peripheral vision and depth perception.

– Work may include lifting (up to 40kg), reaching, bending and pushing of boxes

– Exposure to hazardous equipment such as saws, cleavers, knifes, slicers and band saws

– Are sometimes exposed to contaminants, such as cleaning solvents

– Ability to climb steps and to access and egress through production environment.
