The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is inviting applications for Online Educators on an independent contract basis to teach one of the following subject areas:
Sports Psychology (Undergraduate Degree)
Gender, Sexuality and HIV Counselling (Undergraduate Degree)
Digital Literacy (Higher Certificate)
General requirements:
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Psychology or a related discipline (or Honours degree in Psychology for the Higher Certificate).
Ability to work with diverse students.
Willing to undergo training on various aspects of online teaching.
Strong digital literacy skill – fluent in the use of a variety of digital technologies.
Excellent time management skills.
Experience with Moodle would be advantageous (however it is not required).
Online Educators have the following duties:
Facilitate the online delivery of modules to achieve learning outcomes.
Manage students’ online learning experience.
Facilitate students’ online interactions and encourage engagement.
Develop and facilitate learning activities to meet the module outcomes.
Provide students with online academic support.
Assist the Online Mentor team to identify students who require further academic support and intervention.
Grade students’ assignments and open book examinations within a two week period.
Provide comprehensive assessment feedback.
Participate in peer review processes where necessary.
Assist with exam generation where necessary.
As an independent contractor you will need to provide your own infrastructure such as your own computer and internet access.
