Work Description
The Data Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the collection and submission of high quality and timely data. The Data Analyst is responsible for the following:
Data monitoring and Analysis
General administration
Liaise with stakeholders
Analyse and problem-solve issues with current and planned Systems as they relate to the integration and management of data
Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets
In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
Load electronic data into the database after performing relevant quality checks
Support the Strategic Information Team in all Data Management functions
Adheres to all Data Management SOP’s, Guidelines and Confidential Agreements
Training/mentoring of staff.
Requirements
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
Qualification
Grade 12 or NQF 4 Qualification
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is preferred
Work Experience:
At least 3 years data management experience
Basic Database development and analytical skills
At least 3 years’ experience in the health industry or research environment
Advantageous experience
Experience with data collection processes in Department of Health facilities and knowledge of DOH / PEPFAR indicators is desirable
Requirements:
Willing to work overtime, weekends and/or irregular hours
Understanding/experience with project management
Understanding of HIV/AIDS and TB
Valid Driver’s license
Own transport
Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air, if required
NB: Non – South African citizens must have a valid work permit
