Packhouse Manager wanted immediately: Salary R21 000 to R28 000 per month

Duties & Responsibilities:

General management and oversight of all aspects of the packhouse facility, reporting directly to the senior management and Board of directors.
Manage strategically on an EXCO level the business objectives.
Management of all packhouse operations and IT including all packhouse staff (50).
Sound leadership and direction in the packhouse ensuring quality product output, accuracy, and consistency in packhouse processes and documentation.
Building and implementing best practice policies and principles.
Develop and train a team of packhouse staff.
Management of all logistical aspects (e.g. Planning and reporting, etc.)
Setting up of all costings and agreements involving packing, packaging, logistics, and cold storage.
Overview and planning of all management aspects of maintenance regarding the production facility, the cold room facility, and all other areas, buildings, and equipment of the company.
Liaising with marketers, producers, and all relevant authorities on a regular basis.
Management of all packing material requirements.
Ensuring compliance to all necessary industry quality assurance standards.
Meeting all specifications as required by both local and export customers.
Maintain and ensure high food safety standards and health and safety in line with HACCP and BRC.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

Tertiary qualification, in agriculture, engineering, etc.
Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing perishable packhouses.
Must have excellent management experience.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Must have good numerical and planning skills.
Must be self-disciplined, a team player, honest, and of high integrity.
Must be able to work under minimum supervision while meeting the set targets & deadlines.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
Experience in HACCP, BRC, ISO, and or other quality systems.
