Assistant Telecommunications Technician required: Salary R14 000 to R17 000 per month

My client supplies state of the art telecoms infrastructure and ISP services to urban, suburban and rural South Africa. They are seeking to employ a Technical Assistant in the Bredasdorp area to effectively execute tasks related to coordinating, implementing and support of network and service implementations

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support Field Service Technicians with planning and preparations of technical tasks, stock/materials, appointments
Support Field Service Technicians to successful quality execution of technical tasks
Ensure due Customer care during field engagements
Practice efficient personal time management
Perform, prepare and execute network construction and service implementation
Perform, prepare and execute network maintenance, problem and incident management
Strive for excellence and strict adherence to quality in technical tasks
implement Project deliveries.
Ability to work on within schedule and keep to time frame allocated
Follow company Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to work in a team (local and remote)
Support Field Service Technicians with site surveys for high sites and clients
Successful execution of preparation process (stock, material, jobcards, admin, travel etc.)
Perform the required admin: jobcards, time registers, logbooks, surveys
Following internal escalations and protocols to ensure quick and efficient resolution of issues, incidents
Perform vehicle maintenance
Perform stock take, management and control once for stock/materials issued
Undertake work during business and non-business hours, or as required by the company, customers or vendors due to 27/4/365 operations

Requirements:

Matric
COMPTIA
RF/Microwave Basics
Structured cabling
Fiber optic reticulation
Valid drivers license
Electrical circuits 101 AC/DC/Solar (Advantageous)
A minimum of 2 year in the WISP industry
Experience on Microsoft office.
Microwave/Wi-Fi technology
High sites Construction and Maintenance
Working on masts
Extensive travel and remote work
Understanding of microwave systems
Must be capable in setup of routers and AP’s (Wi-Fi-LAN)
Must be capable in setup of wireless links
Must be capable in setup of VOIP phones
Some understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits

Must be technically inclined
