Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (PTY)Ltd, is a dynamic role-player in the integrated broiler industry with an abattoir in Reitz in the North-Eastern Free State. We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To drive to various farms on a daily basis and perform fogging in various broiler houses according to standard operating procedures. Will be on the road 80% – 90% of the time and expected to travel alone and perform the fogging of the chicken houses, independently.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
Code 10 licence with PDP.
Technical background will be advantageous.
A clear criminal record.
Will engage with GFC Contract Growers on the farms, therefore the Ability communicate in Afrikaans is essential.
Good client interaction skills with both internal/ external customers.
A willingness to work overtime, incl. Saturdays & Sundays.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Travel to various farms on a daily basis to perform fogging of the chicken houses.
Fogging will be performed after the house is fully prepared and ready for chicks.
Will be required to disinfect the vehicle and shower in onsite.
Completion of required documentation including the pre-fumigation checklist.
Preparation of the fogging liquid by mixing of the approved chemical at the appropriate dilution into the tank.
Required to follow the manufacturer’s instruction when using the fogger unit.
Ensure the house is prepared (such as the switching on of the fan) before fogging.
Follow laid-down Standard Operating Procedures when performing the fumigation from start to finish.
Responsible for securing the chicken house after fumigation to restrict unauthorized access.
