GROUNDSKEEPER wanted immediately: Salary R8 000 to R10 000 per month

The following full-time SGB post is available starting January 2022:

GROUNDSKEEPER

Responsibilities:

Maintaining condition and appearance of lawns, grounds and practice fields
Laying out and marking of playing fields
Mowing, watering and fertilizing lawns
Trimming hedges
Installing sprinkler and irrigation systems
Planting, trimming, mulching and fertilizing flowers, shrubs and trees
Keeping grounds free from weeds by using authorized pesticides
Keeping facilities and surrounding areas free from trash, litter, debris and leaves
Cleaning and maintain equipment and materials
Following applicable safety guidelines and procedures
Assist in setting up of furniture for internal and external events
Performing other duties as required

Requirements:

Ability to carry loads of 40kg+ (essential)
Familiarity with sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment (essential)
Knowledge of gardening techniques (advantageous)
Knowledge of gardening products such as fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides (advantageous)
A valid driver’s license (advantageous)
Above-average communication ability in written and verbal forms (essential)
Prior work experience in a school is an added advantage
