Position Summary:
The storekeeper is responsible for carrying out the correct ordering, receiving, issuing and stock control procedures of the unit. In addition the storekeeper must adhere to all required hygiene and food safety procedures in order to manage quality and deliver a quality service in the best interest of our residents, clients and company.
Key Responsibilities:
KPA 1: Ordering, Issuing and Stock Control
Complete standard issue sheets according to the menu cycles and recipes
Allocate stock according to completed standard issue sheets immediately, one day in advance
Label & repackage bulk items into packaging for easy menu and food preparation
Label all shelves and containers according to the FIFO system
Stores/fridge and freezer must be locked at all times
Correct storage of stock according to SOP
Issue stock according to FIFO system
Label all shelves and containers according to the FIFO system
Minimising food waste
Improve GP
Ordering and receiving accurately and according to the standard procedures
Stock take and control
Completion of master order sheets
Correct storage to Standard procedures
KPA 2: Receiving supplies
Issue credit notes for items not purchased or of poor quality
Follow the correct stock receiving procedures
Receive and sign invoices when requested or required
Follows a structured and meticulous approach when receiving stock
Ensures that stock is stored quickly and safely, without compromising the quality of the products
Label items with supplier name & date
KPA 3: Hygiene and Food safety
Follow daily / weekly / monthly cleaning roster
Responsible for overall hygiene in store, fridge and/or freezer
Check and record fridge & freezer temperatures daily
Report changes in fridge & freezer temperatures
Good personal hygiene habits
Wears full clean uniform, name badge and closed flat shoes
Correct handling and storage of chemicals
Correct handling and storage of food according to food safety standards
Correct use of cleaning aids and store equipment
Adopt recycling principals
KPA 4: Training and attendance
The employee is on time at work
The employee is interested in training and personal development
Update Development logbook
Reports absences on time to management
Abiding by the company’s rules always
Attend all applicable training sessions
Conducts on the job training with employees (new and existing) as and when needed
Assist with ad-hoc tasks as and when needed
KPA 5: Teamwork
Carry out all reasonable instructions
assist colleagues with achieving team and company goals
assist where necessary in the kitchen or dining room
attend personnel meetings
able to work in and as part of a team to achieve excellence in relationship directed support
KPA 6: Administration
Daily completion of own attendance register book
Record and report wastage food and stock returns
Complete necessary forms regarding kitchen safety and maintenance
Updating of personal details and information to the Manager for Support Office
