Job Advert Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Building Foreman the successful candidate will ensure that allocated plants and facilities are kept in a presentable, safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water with regard to the general preparation and painting of plant, buildings, parking areas, road markings, fences, poles etc. at all allocated areas at Vereeniging pumping station.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
Recognized trade test as a Painter.
5 years post apprenticeship experience in painting field.
Code B drivers’ license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 tEST.
Completion of the Supervisory training will serve as an added advantage.

Primary Duties:

Do all daily, weekly, monthly and annual painting maintenance to Plant, houses, flats, office buildings where applicable by ensuring optimal plant availability
Planning of daily tasks to ensure that all material, tools, assistants, transport and equipment are available.
Preparation of areas to be painted or glazed. Sourcing of required materials.
Install and replace window panes.
Liaise with other departments and take out permits where necessary.
Receive job cards and give priority to urgent tasks first and carrying out tasks as delegated by the Supervisor from time to time.
