Operated by AMANDLA, the Alexandra Development Precinct (“DLab”) consists of several components, and multiple partners, that play a complementary role in creating the platform for multi-sector collaboration, offering sustainable and holistic support for young people, their families and their communities. Precinct Collaboration is driven through a Collective Impact approach. Safe-Hub is an implementing partner within the Precinct, and a participant of the Collective.
We are looking to hire a Cleaner to join our dynamic supportive Amandla DLAB Coordination team you will work directly with the Precinct Coordination team. To keep the Alexandra Precinct premises clean and secure, and to maintain the standards of the organization.
Educational: Grade 12 (required) Basic Computer Literacy – MS Office (advantage)
Experience and Skills:
Live in or near Alexandra and have an in depth understanding 1 years experience maintaining a facility clean and in a professional Experience in working in a non-profit sector is an advantage Strong ability to deliver practical activities Interpersonal skills Language skills (English critical, other South African languages advantage) Writing proficiency Attention to detail Knowledge of applicable laws, standards and specifications
Duties:
Sanitising surfaces Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors. Daily cleaning of offices by emptying trash cans, servicing restrooms and wiping down communal surfaces Ensure outside walkways remain clear and free of debris Notify building management of any repairs required. Assisting Office staff with making of tea. Cleaning of entire premises – Maintaining environment. General housekeeping tasks.
