Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Diesel Mechanic to be placed in Palabora Sinking Project near Phalaborwa, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Foreman. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
Engineering equipment is maintained according to agreed standard and schedules
Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standard and schedules
Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team
Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Compliance with SHEQ, MRC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
Plan and control spares and equipment
Effective stakeholder engagement
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
Section 26 Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate through a registered body
Valid First Aid Certificate
Valid EB Driver’s license
Good English communication skills [Written and verbal]
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
At least 5 years’ of trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic
At least 5 years’ experience in Mining Industry
Experience in fault finding on hydraulics and strong auto-electrical skills
Knowledge of Diesel Machines, Excavators, Front-end loaders, Manitou etc.
