PURPOSE:

To drive a tractor in a safe and effective manner.

Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 10/Standard 8 (Essential/Minimum)
AET Level 4 (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

1 year Relevant experience transporting heavy items with applicable vehicle (Essential/Minimum) Operational

REQUIREMENTS:

Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
Oper Driv Lic: Tractor (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Equipment Operations and Control

Operate equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Load and transport scrap from various areas of work to scrap yard
Report any defect to direct supervisor

Inspection and Control

Inspect pre-use vehicle
Check controls and general condition and record
Report defects immediately

Operational Support

Drive Water Tanker for dust suppression
Drive bus to transport workers to/from work
Transport heavy materials/machinery to different shafts
Load movable items and secure applicable specification for moving item

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

Adhere to all health/safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements
Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
