There is an immediate vacancy in Sandton, Gauteng for a Cable Jointer (Electrical)

Principal Accountabilities: Perform cable jointing in accordance to standard code of practice |Trace High Voltage cable joint failure | Carry out cable spiking | Carry out cable termination |Performs installation | Cable termination to equipment and overhead lines | Locate faults for repair or replacement | Fix cables that are not working, while following safety rules |Install low and high voltage, and cable joints in accordance to project specifications |Maintain safety in the work area |Perform cable inspection |Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with the necessary safety precautions and standards | Ensure that personal safety and personal protective equipment is kept clean and in good working order at all times
Competencies: Physical & Medical Fitness is required | Normal eyesight and colour vision | Good hand & eye coordination | Safety conscious attitude | Safe lifting procedure | Ability to work @ heights | Ability to use portable electric hand tools | Excellent written and verbal communication in English | Ability to work as team / team player | Ability to use safety access equipment | Ability to repair overhead power lines | Able to lay cables
Minimum Requirements: 2 years’ relevant experience in Electrical Engineering Environment | Cable Jointing & Termination Certificate – Accredited by EWSETA | Grade 12. (Matric) | Relevant qualification (Diploma or higher) |Electrical Trade Test Certificate | Valid ID & Driver’s License
