Cook/Kitchen Hand wanted immediately: Salary R6 000 to R7 650 per month

The cook/Kitchen Hand is responsible for efficiently carrying out the daily food preparation and cooking plans while adhering to all required hygiene and food safety procedures to deliver a quality service in the best interest of our clients and company.

Cooking responsibilities:

· Execute the daily production plan;

· Making sure that the food is prepared to company standards;

· Following recipes and procedures;

· Correct use and understanding of standardised recipes;

· Ensuring food is prepared with minimum wastage;

· Managing wastage & leftover meals;

· Ensuring food orders prepared on time;

· Ensuring stock is checked, signed and stored correctly;

· Ensure kitchen uniform is clean and tidy.

Hygiene and Food safety:

· Make use of the correct chopping boards;

· Clean and sanitise work surfaces, equipment, utensils & pots;

· Clean and wash kitchen floors;

· Clean and wash mops & kitchen towels;

· Complete & follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning roster;

· Correct use and maintenance of cleaning aids / kitchen utensils and equipment;

· Handling and storing of food according to the correct food safety standards;

· Good personal hygiene and habits;

· Wears full, clean uniform, name badge and closed, flat shoes.

Extra responsibilities:

· Completion of fridge/warmer’s temperature register;

· Completion of cooking oil temperature register;

· Ensure disposal of used cooking oil as required.

Minimum Qualification Required:

· Matric/Grade 12

· Clear criminal record

Minimum Experience Required:

·Two (2) years working experience as a Cook within a retail environment.
