Duties & Responsibilities
Answer all calls within a minimum of 30s ring time
Greet callers in a friendly and professional manner
Transfer all calls to the right extensions
Take detailed messages when users are not available
Pass messages as soon as possible
Provide accurate information to callers all the time
Keep an updated emergency contact list
Make emergency calls as required by the client
Keep a record of emergency calls
Create the database on the switchboard console
Update information continually
Generate a directory for all users within the client’s site
Update the directory continuously
Ensure that all users have access to the directory via the network or by means of a hard copy
Receive information on new users from the Technician and carry out the necessary changes on the directory Skills and Competencies Excellent interpersonal skills
Good communication skills
Good report writing and presentation skills
Attention to detail
Ability to plan, organize and control own work effort
Must be customer-focused Qualifications Matric
Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience in switchboard and customer care environment
