HR OFFICER

IkamvaYouth (IY) is a township-based volunteer programme that gets learners out of poverty through education. The organization exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible.

Purpose

The successful candidate will provide HR generalist support to all IY staff and management. He/she is required to work closely with the HR Manager in support of the human resource function with a focus on recruitment & selection, IY’s internship programme and the staff wellness programme.

Reporting line: HR Manager

Location: Cape Town

Salary: R17 547.21

Responsibilities:

Ensure that positions are filled timeously as per SLA
Manages the Employee Life Cycle administration
Provides support and guidance to both management and employees on HR policies and procedures
Responsible for the maintenance of the IY HR Online System
Provides timeous support in relation to statutory and compliance requirements
Responsible for the administration of the performance management process
Manages Wellness programme
Responsible for the coordination and administration of the annual training plan

Minimum requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or related
Minimum of 2-3 years HR generalist experience
Experience in working on ESS and VIP required
Solid understanding of SA Labour Law and codes of good practice
Ability to prioritize and multi-task multiple activities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skill with the ability to communicate professionally
Experience in the NGO sector would be advantageous
