Minimum requirements:

Essential:

Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
Minimum of three years’ experience on general ledger, creditors transactions and stock control procedures in a corporate/manufacturing environment with a strong background in preparing and reviewing reconciliations
Drafting of financial statements

Completed SAICA articles

Responsibilities:

Local Creditors:
Review and verify all purchase orders for the correct general ledger account allocation.
Review and authorise all creditor invoices and credit notes for processing.
Follow up and handle outstanding creditor queries if escalated by the creditor’s clerk.
Review and authorise creditor’s reconciliations for month end payments.
Follow-up and resolve outstanding items on creditor’s reconciliations older than 60 days.
Review creditors payments loaded on FNB Online Banking.
Load and maintain supplier master files on Pastel Evolution.
Review Supplier Information Forms of all new suppliers.

Foreign Creditors:
Same as Local Creditors above.
Costing of foreign paper import shipments.
Authorising of all foreign creditors (imported stock and spares) for payment every Friday.
Cash Book Payments and Transactions:
Same as Local Creditors above.
Review daily bank reconciliation and cashbook transactions.
Weekly authorisation of all invoices and payments on Tuesday for the payment run on Wednesday.
Review and verify cash book payments loaded on FNB Online Banking.
Verify and review all new beneficiaries and/or amended banking details on FNB Online Banking.

Reconciliations:
Monthly VAT reconciliations for the Durban and Johannesburg divisions.
Verify VAT transactions and completion of monthly VAT Return for submission to Head Office.
Monthly PAYE reconciliations for the Durban and Johannesburg divisions.
Monthly General Ledger account reconciliations.
Technique Stock System/Stock Holding:
Daily raw material verification on the stock system.
Comparison between financial and Technique inventory system.
Assist with all stock reporting.
Assistance with stock takes/cycle counts, reconciliations and adjustments of stock holding.
Review and verification of the paper stock pricing at the weighted average cost of stock holding.
Supervising of general finance staff members – 5 staff members.
Capture all payments on the FNB Online Banking system when required.
Carbon Footprint and BBBEE:
Prepare the Carbon Footprint and BBBEE reporting on a monthly basis.
Provide assistance to staff members with any Pastel Evolution matters.
Provide assistance to the Financial Manager and the Financial Director as and when required.
Preparing ad hoc spread sheets and reconciliations at the request of the Financial Manager and the Financial Director as and when required.
Assistance with annual year-end audit and interaction with the audit team to resolve any audit matters.
Assistance with annual year-end schedules as required.
Please note that the list of duties above, although comprehensive, may not be complete and the candidate will need to assist with any ad hoc tasks within the finance department

Competencies:

Accuracy and thoroughness.
Fully computer literate.
Good communication skills.
Own transport and preferably from the East Rand area.
Ability to work under pressure and ability to meet monthly deadlines.
Prepared to work overtime if and when required.
Maintain proper time keeping.

Remuneration & benefits:

R 35 000 CTC (inclusive of basic and provident fund)
