Job Purpose The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render support to professional staff and the administrative officer. The successful incumbent must possess the following personal attributes: Reliable, self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure. This post is based in George.
Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)

Key Performance Areas Provide a reception service; Enquiries and complaints from clients; Referral of clients; Provide office administration; Provision of effective record keeping; Provide logistical support; Arrange GG transport and subsidised vehicle claims; Arrange travelling and accommodation; Responsible for the upkeep and purchases of stock and stationery; Preparation of DITCOM applications; Check and verify contractor invoices; Capturing and processing of payments; Asset management.
Competencies Good understanding of the following: Application of relevant legislation; Relevant systems (e.g. EPSI, LOGIS, BizProjects and BAS); Contract administration; Health Safety Act and relevant regulations; Verbal and written communication skills; Interpersonal relations; Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Record keeping skills; Problem solving skills; Organising and negotiation skills.

Remuneration R173 703 per annum (Salary level 5)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
