Administrator (Insurance Company) – Seeking a junior to mid-level administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Claims Legal Department, the manager, and provide such other general support to the wider Claims Head Office team as may be required. The candidate MUST have solid knowledge of Excel (including data input, navigation, formatting and basic formulae).

Salary: R12,000 – R15,000 per month

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 3 years administration experience essential;
Good English mark in high school;
Sound knowledge of MS Office packages – advanced Excel skills;
Analytical skills;
Critical thinking skills;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
Attention to detail and accuracy;
Problem solving skills;
Organized and detail-oriented;
Work both individually and as part of a team where appropriate;
Be willing to carry out or assist with such tasks as may be required in order to achieve deliverables, or as reasonably requested;
Regularly familiarize themselves with Policy Wordings and internal Procedures;
Secretarial administration;
General office administration skills;
Appropriate Diploma/Certificate advantageous – Paralegal Diploma/Secretarial Diploma;
Ability to work under pressure;
Must be well spoken and presented; and
Must have a stable career history.

Duties and Responsibilities

Create Claims Committee (CC) Files;
Ensure that the CC process is carried out by the branches;
Check and ensure compliance with the process;
Draft repudiation letters, at a later stage once fully trained and au fait with the drafting process;
Follow up with branches on outstanding information and documents;
Draft Decision Templates;
Update Attorneys Invoice spreadsheet;
Liaising with branches regarding CC queries and follow ups;
Manage day-to-day admin in relation to the claims legal department;
Communicate effectively with branches to identify needs and evaluate gaps;
Maintain the claims legal department’s database and filing system for documents, updated on a daily basis;
Administer the naming convention for Claims Committee related, attorneys, and liability and third-party recovery documents;
Process internal queries regarding the status of claims committee matters;
Provide administrative assistance with attorneys invoices;
Provide administrative assistance with department registers, including but not limited to the daily claims committee register, new claims committee referrals, representations, etc;
Assist in creating, maintaining and providing all supporting documentation and schedules in accordance to the requirements for a claims committee referral pack; and
Actively seek to refine and improve Claims Legal Department processes and collaboration with the branches.
