Reporting to the Accountant: Inventory & Insurance, this role will be responsible for reconciling stock count information received from stores, transporter claims and other stock-related administration duties.
Qualifications: Essential: Grade 12 Diploma in Finance / Accounting or equivalent Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge required: • Strong administration knowledge and ability • Good knowledge of financial administration and basic accounting principles and their application (debits, credits, journals, reconciliations) • Knowledge of Inventory process • Basic transport/ logistics Skills required: • Intermediate to advanced Excel • Communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to work independently as well as in a team • Attention to detail • Deadline driven
• Analytical thinking • Ability to work under pressure • Able to deal with large volumes of work Experience required: 2-3 years’ experience in a finance administration role Experience preferred: 2-3 years’ experience in a finance inventory role
1. Store stock counts • Draw store variance reports for identified assigned stores • Do reconciliation and investigate stock losses/ gains • Communicate results to ops team for stores to review exceptions
2. Investigate Store and DC inventory queries and assist in resolving them 3. Goods in-transit • Assist stores with follow ups and investigation of IBTs by Hand Report 4. Transporter claims • Receive and investigate weekly claims from transporter • Do recon of all the accounts at the end of the month for all accounts around claims • Submit claims – self-insurance or transporter • Prepare journals to clear invalid claims timeously
