The Junior Designer will provide general drafting work for various
projects and ensure all deliverables, as agreed are met.
Knowledge and Skills
Create Concept Sketches from
Take Concept Sketches/Ideas
to Prototype Design·
Design and Model Final
Manage Drawing Revision
Conduct Research and Create
Attend/Arrange Design Review
Meetings (Incl. Site Measurements)·
Establish and Convey Design
Create and Develop Bill of
Material Identification and
Create and Revise Standard
Create Physical Prototype
Assist and Improve Production/Operational Processes
Explain Design Queries and/or Complications
Resolve Design Errors
Improve and Develop Existing Standard Designs
Assist Management – Ensure Design Adherence
Material Tracking and Verification
Assist Management – Ad Hoc Functions
Assist Management – Ensure Quality
Componentry Design Database
Experience and Qualifications
Technical Qualification is not essential but will be advantageous.
Matric or equivalent
Working experience in the Engineering / Manufacturing will be advantageous.
Autodesk Inventor experience in an engineering or manufacturing
Ability to interpret drawings is essential
Computer literate (e.g. Outlook, Excel and Word)
Demonstrate Technical competence in engineering matters will be advantageous
Good communication and report writing skills
Personal Attributes and General Requirements
Driver’s license and own transport essential.
Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
Good Communication skills
Excellent problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
Self-Motivated and able to work with limited supervision and with close attention to detail.
Team Player as the nature of the role requires comfortable interaction (Professional disposition, verbal and written) and liaison with Management, Co-Workers and client.
Precision / Attention to detail is essential
Excellent Interpersonal; verbal and written communication skills.
