The ideal candidate will be a manager with a proven track record and a progressive attitude towards implementing and maintaining world-class farming standards and procedures.
Reporting to an Estate Manager, the candidates will be based in Limpopo, NorthWest & the Western Cape.
Making it happen: The production manager will:
Implement horticultural best practices to ensure production targets are achieved, as agreed upon and instructed by Estate Manager.
Coordinate, plan and supervise work for direct subordinates.
Organise and control the availability of farming resources and implements.
Ensure ongoing control of all processes, recording of progress and monitoring of costs within area of responsibility.
Provide accurate information to contribute to the production estimates and planning.
Ensure the production unit and assets are maintained and safe.
Support the implementation and maintenance of environmental and sustainability plans and targets.
Ensure compliance with all audit and legislation requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
A relevant tertiary degree in agriculture and/or horticulture.
3-5 years’ relevant farm production experience.
Experience with compliance, e.g. Global G.A.P, is an advantage.
Horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production functions.
Strong computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Strong planning and coordination skills.
Strong people management skills.
Good communication skills; verbal and written.
Relationship building and interpersonal skills.
