Our clients are looking for a Financial Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on position that requires working knowledge of excel and accounting disciplines such as, financial accounting, compliance reporting and budget preparation as well as systems development and improvement.

Must have a CA / Masters qualification in Finance
Must have 10 years’ experience at Finance Management level
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills (written and verbal ) is critical
Must have the ability to lead all financial matters in the group and keep high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality
Must have capacity and ability to train and coach other staff
In-depth knowledge and skills are needed in the development of formal procedures and work flow systems which accurately reflect the company operations
Pastel Accounting skills is essential for the success of the candidate in this role.
International financial management experience especially in African countries is beneficial for this role
Background in the Media Industry would be an advantage
o Participate in the provision of effective strategic and financial planning and information.
Compliance & Statutory requirements
o Financial reports should be prepared in relation to the company and statutory guidelines and requirements so that it is a blend of the two and ensures that data is relevant and useful;
o Controlling ultimately the ability of the company to be profitable, that is the preservation of income and the management of cost and expense so as to maximize profits.
o Provide controllership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
o Reporting needs to be real-time, relevant and accurate so that the data provides a live and significant picture for management with which to dissect and use for strategic decision making
o Provide leadership and direction to the group to ensure efficient use of human resources
o IT Management
§ Ensure that robust backup systems exist and are working for all financial information
§ General Hardware and software management
§ Make sure policies and procedures and licenses are up to date for continued smooth running of the company systems
o HR Management
§ Maximise staff retention and training
§ Keep HR policies and procedures up to date
§ Assist in Performance Appraisals
§ Endeavour to meet disputes with conciliation
§ Manage legal costs
