Great opportunity for a Junior Financial Manager to join a company within the medical sector. They are looking for a top-quality candidate to join their Western Cape office.

This group of companies was founded in 1993 and has been involved in the medical field ever since, providing innovative medical solutions to the industry. They started with mobile sophisticated medical equipment and have subsequently evolved into a diversified medical company focussing on real vertical integration.

Their list of clients has grown to where today they serve approximately 90% of the hospitals in South Africa and Namibia and also have a footprint in neighbouring states.

Role Description

To contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental accounting systems, policies, and procedures. Supports the department through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documentation. Maintain complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

The junior financial manager will be responsible for the following:

Responsible for complete functions on entities under this area
Manage the Group Leader by ensuring that all his/her tasks and responsibilities are complete and executed timely and accurately
Integrate financial management and operational spheres
Implement business decisions in accounting systems
Accurate and timely monthly management statements
Accurate and timely valuation projections
Accurate and up to date budgets
Evaluate business performance against budgets and forecasts
Accurate and timely provisional tax calculations
Analysis and reports to make projects profitable
Maintain SAP Master Data changes
Review Internal Audit reports
Review External Audit draft financial statements
International orders and imports (where applicable)
Writing of relevant standard operating procedures
Pricelist calculations
Daily prioritization in order to ensure that the area is constantly performing
Send out the weekly priority sheet
Write reports to management
Prepare management accounts and maintain its structure
Maintain monthly cash projections
Delegate tasks to Group Leaders and follow up
Complete quarterly and / or yearly STATSA
Ensure integrity and accurate structure of monthly allocation spreadsheets
Check and once approved, submit monthly cash flow reports and loan applications
Liaise with suppliers to order stock and/or parts, where applicable
Manage stock levels, where applicable
Attend monthly internal audit meetings
Assist relevant Entity Manager with financial-related queries
Prepare the groundwork for the yearly valuation process
Ad hoc tasks as requested from management

Other responsibilities:

Upholding of the Company Confidentiality Agreement.
Compliance with all relevant legislation.
Effective management and continuity of all related activities.
All performance-related tasks as required.

Qualifications and experience

B Accounting Degree or similar / CIMA / CA (SA) / PA(SA)
2+ years post SAICA/SAIPA articles
Experience in a similar role
