Head Internal Audit JHB We are looking for a new Internal Auditor Head of Department. To plan and perform internal audits and report on internal controls in alignment with standards as defined by the Board, Executive and Institute of Internal Auditors. Context
The Internal Audit Head of Department role reports directly to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, with a dotted line to the CEO and Audit Committee, in the provision of a comprehensive internal auditing service. The incumbent of this role is accountable to conduct risk-based audit assignments within business. The intent of these audits is to use systematic methods to analyse and scrutinise business processes, procedures, activities and controls to identify areas of risk and organisational difficulties and to recommend appropriate solutions. These audits take place in line with the standards of Institute of Internal Auditors. The incumbent will be responsible for providing reliable and valued assurance to the Board and Executive Management regarding the effectiveness of controls mitigating current and evolving high risks, thereby enhancing the controls culture within business to achieve a high standard of corporate governance.
BCom Hons or equivalent in Business Administration (Essential)
Qualified Chartered Accountant – registered with SAICA (Essential)
3 years (post article) experience in Internal Audit (Essential)
Retail sector / financial services auditing experience (Desirable)
Exposure to Audit Committees and engagement at Board level (Desirables)
To plan and perform Internal Audits
To provide consulting services to Board and Executive Management
To liaise with other Internal Assurance Providers
To ensure compliance with all Governance requirements
