A well-known market leader providing services and solutions to various industries requires the above to be responsible for corporate accounting and internal reporting for the company and subsidiaries or investment in associates.

Minimum requirements for the role:

Previous experience having worked in a Contracting environment is essential whilst Project Costing experience would be preferred.

A Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Financial Management or CIMA or studying towards CIMA would be advantageous.

Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) is essential.

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues are essential.

SAP experience is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing all accounting operations including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.

Ensuring accurate WIP reporting and critical risk analysis of project life cycles and performance.

Preparing crucial contracts and order projections.

Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.

Preparing annual audited financial statements.

Reviewing monthly general ledger reconciliations and trial balance.

Assisting the Financial Manager in preparing the annual budgets and forecasts using the “zero-based” approach for budgeting and forecasting.

Preparing and reporting monthly financial results and variances to the Financial Manager.

Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

Managing and complying with local government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Liaising with Tax Consultants to ensure tax returns are filed on time.

Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies.

Developing, implementing and ensuring compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.

Preparing all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external Auditor.

Developing and maintaining financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and petty cash.

Preparing and managing cash flow forecasts in accordance with the policy.

Ensuring that the company complies with the BBB-EE Act.
