Our Undergraduate Program provides students who will be in their final year or second to last year of University in 2021 the opportunity to: Gain skills and experience across a broad range of functions in your relevant area of study; Apply your knowledge in practical situations to achieve professional outcomes; Work with highly proficient and experienced mentors in a multi-disciplinary environment.
During your undergraduate period, you will be provided with the opportunity to develop engineering solutions to resolve safety or productivity challenges presented to the mechanical services team. You will have an interest in the identification, development and implementation of innovative continuous improvement projects and participate in the asset creation process. Your skill and attention to detail in the verification of ‘work as executed’ plans will assist in the capital project conclusion process.
What you’ll get to experience as an undergraduate in this role:
Participating in safety leadership according to council’s safe systems of work; Promoting collaboration by identifying opportunities to work with other teams/units to solve issues and develop better processes and approaches to work; Assisting in commissioning equipment returning back into service; Participating in risk & HAZOP assessments for water and sewer treatment plants and pumping assets; Developing and update asset registers for the council’s mechanical assets; Approaching each day with a challenging mind, communicate well and be persistent with a positive attitude. Be enrolled in both semesters or all trimesters of your final year or second to last year of University study in 2021 in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering; Have the ability to work 35 hours per week (flexible arrangements available) within business hours and balance with educational requirements; Be willing to learn in a dynamic environment; and
