Office Furniture Removal Assistant wanted: APPLY NOW
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To implement the removals and storage processes, involving physical assets, within the SABS campus and premises.
1. Move, store, assemble and/or disassemble physical assets within scope of control
Lift, load, carry, re-arrange and manoeuvre physical assets (e.g., chairs, cupboards, tables, desks, whiteboards, appliances, carpets, files, books, etc.) safely to avoid damage to the physical assets or to your person or other persons.
Ensure job card and asset transfer form contain the same information and are signed off correctly before conducting any job.
Use mechanical aids (e.g., trolleys, carts, etc.) to move physical assets as required, appropriately and according to safety specifications.
Assemble, disassemble and re-assemble physical assets (e.g., desks, cupboards, etc.) as required
Move and store disused, old and /or broken physical assets as required
Identify and log all unused office space and possible store room sites across the SABS campus
Pack and coordinate store rooms systematically for ease of access (e.g., broken furniture, auctionable assets, disused assets, etc.)
Prepare tracking sheets and check stored inventory within above mentioned store rooms as required
Collect and deliver consumables (e.g., boxes of printing paper, etc.) from warehouse to divisions as required
Implement office and physical asset moves in the SABS campus, including moves for SABS tenants (e.g., CIDB, NRCS, NCC, etc.) as well
Set-up venues (e.g., SABS club, north solarium, various SABS meeting rooms, cafeteria, etc.) for functions, meetings, etc. as required
Relieve fleet services personnel when they are off sick or on leave and assist with car washing services as required
2. Conduct administrative and filing duties within scope of control
Prepare, submit and file reports, as and when required
Ensure safe record keeping of job card duties completed
Ensure all job cards are correctly signed off before filing
3. Adhere to service standards and deliver excellent customer services
Ensure efficient communication of all client requests and needs to the manager
Provide excellent customer service by meeting the client requirements
Handle queries and resolve problems within span of control and within agreed time frames
Follow up on customer queries, complaints etc. where necessary
4. Optimise own performance within team
Participate as a productive team member by managing own performance in order to meet departmental objectives
Gather facts and information objectively with accuracy and attention to detail
Make logical decisions and use sound judgment in relation to tracking projects, tasks, assignments and reports
Plan, organize and coordinate relevant work duties as they relate to the department
Work independently with minimal supervision, set reasonable priorities and manage time and deadline driven workload
Contribute to diversity management initiatives and actively build relationships
At least 1 year relevant work experience in the removals industry (e.g., furniture, office, home, etc.) is essential
Experience in handling, packaging, loading and moving physical assets (of various weights, shapes and sizes) safely and without damage is essential
Relevant Computer Proficiency (i.e. MS Office Suite including Internet and other related programmes)
