My Client a new “High End” Restaurant opening in Sandton is recruiting for a General Manager. The Restaurant will be attract and become a Brand that will be synonymous with discerning Diners in Johannesburg for years to come. The Restaurant is part of a New development.
Tertiary Hospitality / Catering Management qualification
10 years + Restaurant Management / Hotel F&B Management experience in 5 star establishments
Excellent PRO / Guest Relations – will become the “Face” of the Restaurant
Must have an Excellent knowledge of Food and Wine paring
International experience would be an advantage
The ability to communicate in an additional foreign / African language would be a plus
Candidates must submit an updated detailed CV with a Head and Shoulders photograph
The tasks carried out by The Restaurant Manager will vary on a day to day basis but will include but not be limited to the following
Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
Analysing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability.
Organising marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
Preparing trading reports at the end of the shift / week and month, including staff control, food control and sales.
Creating and executing plans for restaurant / Bar sales, profit and staff development.
Setting budgets and /or agreeing them with Owners / Senior stakeholders..
Planning and coordinating menus.
Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
Responding to customer complaints.
Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards.
Meeting and greeting customers and organising table reservations.
Advising customers on menu and wine choice.
Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
Organising and supervising the shifts of kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff.
Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash as required.
Helping in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.
