Restaurant Manager wanted immediately: Salary R18 000 per month

As the Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant, optimising profit, development and training of staff, stock control and ordering, cashing up, sales analysis and attainment of set KPIs. You will also ensure the great customer service and consistent food quality at all times. Commercial and managerial acumen and proactive, enthusiastic and welcoming attitude is must. You will be report to the Chief Operations Officer.

Responsibilities

Business Management

To be fully converse with the Restaurant operation and to efficiently manage the operation of all shifts;
To take a keen interest in the current business situation and to bring in sound ideas to increase profit, decrease spending, up selling orders and maximising guests spend where possible;
Ensure the planning and implementation of sales strategies for profitability;
Coordinate sales and marketing campaigns with marketing team;
Generate weekly and or monthly management reports i.e. restaurant sales/performance, workforce planning & development and food management
Ensure that set KPI’s and sales targets are met;
Manage the control of labour, supplier and staff costs without compromising standards;
Ensure great and consistent customer service as well as deals with all customer queries and complaints in a professional manner and in line with company’s policy;
Proactively communicate financial information such as budgets and costs for timely management decision making;
Forecast potential revenue and cost with particular reference to labour;
Support Kitchen operation and management when needed;
Ensure all staff is followed the Company’s Customer Service Steps at all times;
Attend all management meetings and training sessions as required;
Keep abreast with market changes and trends in the restaurant scene in London;
Represent and promote the brand to all internal and external parties.
Team Management

In conjunction with HR, recruiting, selecting, scheduling, and coaching;
In conjunction with HR, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job performance of employees;
Performance management and managing disciplinary;
Identify training needs and capability gaps within the team;
Ensure staff are inducted, trained and given supervision, motivation and advice on all aspects of their work as they develop.
Housekeeping

Together with Head Chef manage monthly stock take and wastage, assess results and variances to properly address issues
Ensure that in house control systems/audit requirements are followed;
Demonstrate a high standard of restaurant and personal presentation, adhering to restaurant hygiene rules and ensuring staff do likewise;
Understand relevant H&S legislation and the implications on the business, taking action as required;
Ensure a safe workplace by identifying and reporting hazards and taking corrective action immediately;
Implement maintenance activities in order to uphold our required standards;
Develop an inclusive and friendly rapport with customers, actively seeking feedback on a regular basis, get to know regulars, acknowledge repeat customers;
Agree and implement actions to continuously improve the guest experience;
Ensure customer requests and feedback, both verbal and written are responded to promptly and efficiently following the escalation process where necessary;
Maintain and further enhances relationships with local residents and businesses;
Maximise incremental sales opportunities by adding customer value at every opportunity;
Any other ad hoc duties.

Essential Skills

Need to be passionate about running a business, with a sixth sense for profitability, maestro-level multi-tasking skills and the nous to make sound calls on business decisions

Excellent level of spoken and written English

Proven experience in a restaurant managerial role

Experience working in a fast paced restaurant

Microsoft packages and content management system knowledge
