Sales Assistant – Canal Walk

Job Description

Established in 1987, The Cock ‘n Bull is one of the leading tobacco retail stores in Cape Town that sells a wide range of tobacco-related products and accessories.

We are looking for a Sales Assistant for our Canal Walk store to help customers identify and purchase the products they desire. The goal is to provide top-quality customer service and to maximize sales in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
Drive and meet sales targets
Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
Recommend items that match customer needs
Welcome and greet customers
Dealing with customer queries and complaints
Work on point-of-sale
Receiving, checking and merchandising of new products
Remain updated on product information
Accurately describe product features and benefits
Adhere to company policies and procedures

Requirements (what do you need to do the job?)

Grade 12
Minimum 6 months to 1 year sales or customer service experience
Basic administration skills (advantageous)
Understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
Proficient in English
Solid interpersonal skills and engaging personality
Self-reliant, friendly, helpful and confident
Capacity to work a flexible schedule (weekends and evening shifts) according to the needs of the business
Possess a strong work ethic and hands-on attitude.
