A career opportunity exists for a Skills and Diversity Officer, based in Rosslyn and reporting directly to the HR Manager. The s main purpose of the job is to plan, implement and facilitate training as per the annual training plan and operational requirements; manage all transformation initiatives and employee wellness programmes.

Training & Development
Organise and schedule monthly and/or adhoc Skills Development meetings
Compile the annual Workplace Skills Plan as per SETA requirements
Set up and manage the Learnership and Internship programs and ensure compliance with SETA documentary requirements
Ensure the implementation of all training and development initiatives detailed in the WSP
Work with transformation to meet the EE Skills Development score targets
Keep up to date with new or changed standard operating procedures, products, processes, machinery / equipment or quality requirements in designated areas and implements these changes in relation to training
Manage training budget
Monitor and check all monthly (including SAP T&E) and annual training reports for accuracy
Source and evaluate training providers and facilitators as required and puts SLA’s in place
Prepare training proposals detailing roll out plan for Business Unit is in place with Service Providers
Act as the contact between the BU and external training institutions and related bodies such as training providers and other training and educational institutions
Create Purchase Orders for the Training department
Manage Learnerships

Quality Control
Ensure training registers are completed and training is captured and updated on SAP
Take all practical and cost effective steps to prevent or minimise accidents or injuries to personnel and damage to property during workplace assessments or on-the job observations
Protect the assets of the BU against losses during workplace assessments or on-the job observations

Transformation Coordination
Prepare the annual EE report through coordination of the process, update the EE plan, check the report prepared by HRSS, send to HR Manager to sign off and ensure submission by the deadline date
Coordinate monthly EE/Skills Development Committee meetings and ensures that minutes are properly captured and distributed to the Committee

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) / Wellness Coordination
Provide input and suggestions when setting up the employee Wellness plan, including the ongoing communication of the ICAS offering
Coordinate the annual EAP / Wellness meetings / events’ venues, catering, refreshments and transportation organised by the HR Officer
Provide all parties timeously with the relevant and accurate HR documentation around EAP / Wellness programmes
Coordinate staff functions (farewells, long service awards, year ends and retirement functions)
Arrange canteen committee meetings and liaise with the service provider

At least five years’ experience in Training and Transformation functions gained in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
Experience with compiling the annual WSP essential
SAP experience required

A completed 3 year tertiary qualification relating to Training and Development, HR, or Industrial Psychology

Knowledge of relevant labour legislation (i.e. Basic Conditions of Employment, Labour Relations, Skills Development , EE Act /BB-BEE)
Good facilitation and presentation skills
