Main Purpose of the Job
Manage the dayshift Operations of the branch
Provide supervision in delivery, dispatch and Loading of Line hauls
Ensure departure times are met
Ensure Monthly KPi’s are met ie: Delivery and collections, Query logger, etc
Manage offloading of incoming regional and local vehicles
Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
Manage and take ownership of the dayshift operational activities and ensure that the company and client are adhering to the contractual standards set out in the SLA agreement.
Manage resources and staff and provide them with the necessary tools required to perform their daily activities e.g. vehicles, equipment, knowledge, skills and training
Manage activities for 8 Routes
Manage the day to day activities for RTR branch
Manage and report back on various KPi’s related to the job function.
Ensure that all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance to corporate governance
Assess and minimize risk factors in the operation to ensure profitability and customer retention.
Continuously address value adds through continuous improvement processes ensuring profitable growth to the client and company
Maintain sound supplier relationships within a trustworthy environment to ensure future continuous relationships.
Must be able to conduct extensive route evaluations – 1 per month
Must have an in-depth knowledge of Evolution/Back office and all associated Radio Room functions
A Diploma in Supply chain management will be an added advantage

Excel and Word
Job Related Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory Role in the Courier industry.
Own reliable transport to and from work
Able to work overtime when operationally required.
Possibility of working night shift during special projects
Able to Discipline staff
Able to liaise with Customers

Previous Supervisory experience in DSV Distribution
Able to multi task and prioritize
Able to work independently
Able to Motivate staff
